Are bike helmets worthless?

Seriously, do you think that little piece of styrofoam like material well do any good if your kid goes over the handlebars headfirst on solid cement? Yes, as a matter of fact it will, but only if the helmet is fit to the child's head correctly. Don't assume your kid's helmet is fit correctly, most are not! The primary issue is with straps that are too loose or adjusted improperly as to allow the helmet to sit on the back of the head and not protect the forehead.
